Terms of Service

These Terms of Service describe the rules for using DivorceIY, a self-help software service for people preparing uncontested Illinois divorce paperwork.

What DivorceIY provides

DivorceIY provides guided questions, collaboration tools, document assembly, and filing-oriented information for self-represented people working through an uncontested divorce in Illinois.

DivorceIY is not a law firm, does not employ an attorney to represent you, and does not provide legal advice.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for reviewing all information you enter, confirming that generated documents are complete and accurate, and deciding whether your situation requires help from a licensed attorney.

You agree to use DivorceIY only for lawful purposes and only with information you are authorized to provide.

Accounts and collaboration

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for actions taken through your account.

If you invite another person into a case, that person may be able to view, edit, and export shared case information.

Fees and availability

DivorceIY may change its pricing, features, or availability over time, but any paid terms presented at checkout will control the purchase shown there.

We may suspend or end access if an account is used in a way that harms the service, violates these Terms, or creates legal or security risk.

AI-assisted features

AI-assisted guidance is informational and may be incomplete or incorrect, so you must review it before relying on it.

AI-assisted features do not create an attorney-client relationship and do not replace advice from a licensed attorney.

Disclaimers and limits

DivorceIY is provided as-is and as available, without warranties that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or accepted by every court or clerk.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, DivorceIY will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

Disputes

These Terms are governed by Illinois law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any optional arbitration or court-venue language should be reviewed by counsel before launch.
